The pattern underneath coordination
Six independent frameworks — from tensegrity to living systems to consent dynamics — all discovered the same underlying architecture. Four capacities that hold whenever coordination works, and degrade in predictable ways when it fails. These pages make that pattern visible so it can be worked with consciously.
You don't need all of it. Enter where it's live for you.
Four Questions
No prerequisites. No vocabulary to learn first. Four questions to check against your own experience. The weakest answer points to the missing vertex — and where to go next. Three minutes.
Start the diagnostic →The Naming Bridge
The same four capacities appear across multiple registers — structural, operational, experiential, and practical. This isn't inconsistency. It's the framework demonstrating its own substrate-independence.
| Vertex | Structural | Operational | Experiential | Practice |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First | Differentiation | Recognize what's distinct | Coherence | Am I holding my position? |
| Second | Connection | Contact what's present | Overflow | Am I in genuine contact? |
| Third | Boundaries | Make limits visible | Clarity | Are limits visible? |
| Fourth | Architecture | Build what persists | Persistence | Does this build capacity? |
The invariant pattern
The structural core — geometry, operation, experience, propagation, diagnosis.
The Proto-Pattern
The minimum system: 4 vertices, 6 edges, 4 faces, 1 whole. Three points make a plane. A plane divides but doesn't enclose. Add a fourth point and something happens that can't be undone — inside and outside emerge simultaneously. This is the geometry underneath everything else on this site.
Transmission Architecture
How the pattern propagates without requiring the transmitter's presence. Runtime verification, degradation detection, substrate-independence. The protocol that keeps coherence alive across discontinuities.
Read the architecture →Tetrahedral Audit
When something's broken, don't look for the force that wasn't strong enough. Look for the missing vertex. Axiomatic checks, failure mode analysis, and intervention design for systems that need structural repair.
Run the audit →The pattern in practice
The same geometry operating in specific contexts — community, institutions, exchange.
Holding the Commons
Practices for people who hold space — dance floors, community gardens, shared workshops. The commons vs. service distinction. Non-transactional language. What organizers actually owe the space.
Read the practices →Safety Documentation
A co-regulation tool for legally protected safety reporting. Value physics that align incentives so speaking up becomes rational for everyone. Better safety through better architecture.
Read the template →Architecture of Exchange
What makes non-transactional exchange structurally possible. Value physics, trace deposits, and how circulation proves the source. The architecture underneath gift economy.
Read the architecture →Source frameworks
Recognition Infrastructure didn't invent these patterns. It recognized the invariant structure operating underneath them and distilled it to essential geometry.
These frameworks make the invisible visible so it can be worked with consciously. Enter where it's live for you. Take what serves. The pattern is already operating — these pages give you language for what you already recognize.
