Consultations

Where the framework gets applied to your specific situation.

A structured engagement form for receivers building their own infrastructure. Two event types — 30-minute initial and 1-hour follow-up — with engagement extending as long as the work wants and closing when it's done. Wednesdays and Thursdays only. The practice is sustained through the donation rail, freely chosen, separately from any booking — engagement and exchange run on different channels by design.

How this work circulates

Kevin works for the commons. The specifics of your situation stay with you. Names, places, the particular shape of your bind — none of that leaves the room.

What does travel: the pattern. If something you bring reveals a structural move Kevin hadn't seen, or surfaces a failure mode the framework hasn't named yet, he folds that pattern — stripped of you — back into the public substrate. Future essays, future tools. The work you brought becomes one of the threads the commons is woven from.

This is the structural arrangement, not a clause in fine print. The patterns flow back to the commons; the practice itself is sustained on a separate rail. The arrangement and the exchange channel are two different things, held apart by design.

Read the arrangement above slowly. If anything in your chest tightens, name it. The fit filter exists for that.

How engagement unfolds

Engagements are emergent, not pre-structured. Every receiver starts with a 30-minute initial; follow-ups happen if the work wants follow-ups; the engagement extends as long as it should and closes when it's done. Two event types on the calendar:

Initial consultation · 30 minutes

The first contact. You bring a specific situation — something in your own infrastructure (organizational, personal, project-scale), or a body of your own work (manuscript, framework, governance model, site plan). Kevin reads it through the Recognition Infrastructure framework; together you name what would be useful next. Most engagements complete here — the structural read is what was needed. Some open into follow-ups; some identify a body of work for a written reading; some surface that this isn't the fit and route to substrate.

Follow-up session · 1 hour

For engagements that continue past the initial. Each follow-up is its own complete unit; emerges from what the prior session opened. Some engagements have one follow-up; some have several; the work decides, not a pre-committed package.

Written substrate-level reading

For receivers bringing a body of their own work. The 30-minute initial scopes the reading and confirms fit. Kevin then reads the work through the lens and returns a written structural read, 4–8 pages, naming what holds, what drifts, what's extraction-patterned, what's load-bearing. One optional follow-up session after delivery for clarifying exchange.

Every engagement holds processing time on the calendar — a buffer before and after each session. The processing is part of the engagement, where the patterns extracted feed back to the commons per the arrangement above.

Sustaining the practice

Booking a consultation costs nothing on the calendar. The practice is sustained through donations on a separate rail — receivers who want to support the work do so freely, through the donation rail, at whatever amount and cadence feels right to them.

The two channels are kept structurally separate. A donation does not buy access to a consultation. A consultation does not require or implicitly invite a donation. Receivers who never donate are not second-class. Receivers who give generously are not given preferential treatment — Kevin operates under the same discipline he names on the donate page: donor identity does not shape engagement.

Capacity

Wednesdays and Thursdays only. No fixed concurrent-engagement number — capacity is body-discriminated, varying with what's open in any given week. See Current State for whether intake is open right now.

Fit

A consultation fits if you're building your own infrastructure (not asking Kevin to build yours), you have somatic ground the framework can rest on, you've engaged with some of the substrate already, you have a specific question, and the commons-work arrangement above lands cleanly in your body.

The fit-filter tool runs five questions and routes you to one of three outcomes: /toolkits/fit-filter.html. Take the filter before reaching for the calendar. Most requests turn out to be a fit for the substrate first, not the consultation tier — the filter sorts before any time is spent.

Current intake state

See Current State for whether intake is open right now and the operating shape of the practice. When intake is open, the calendar is reachable through the fit filter.
